CONCEPT

Shabu-Shabu Tensho, a fine-dining Japanese restaurant, opened on May 2022, as the successor to Kagaya, a long-time favorite shabu-shabu restaurant in Little Tokyo.

To serve the highest quality experience, Tensho invests time and effort to secure quality meats, seafood, vegetables, desserts, and drinks.

Tensho uses imported art, plates, and sake glasses from Japan to provide an authentic culinary experience for our guests right from Little Tokyo.

Highest quality Shabu-shabu

We strive to serve the highest quality ingredients for meat, seafood, vegetables, desserts, and drinks.

We serve A5 Miyazaki Wagyu, which has a bold meaty texture while melting inside the mouth.Our King Crabs are delivered fresh from the market, filled with juicy crab meat.

The shabu-shabu base soup is prepared with chicken broth. You can enjoy shabu-shabu with citrus soysauce or sesami sauce.

What is shabu-shabu?

Shabu-shabu is one of the well-known Japanese hotpot cuisine. The dish is served with thinly sliced meat and vegetables and served with dipping sauces. Shabu-shabu is prepared with wide variety of healthy ingredients, including meat, vegetables, mushrooms and tofu, giving a savory flavor. The ingredients are stirred in the cooking pot before eating, which removes excess fat from the meat, reducing the calorie intake.

Mr. Takumi Kawano, a veteran chef with 20 years of experience, serves exquisite dishes, offering authentic Japanese flavors examined down to the finest detail.

In addition, Chef Kawano’s skills as the head chef of a high-end Japanese restaurant are also evident in his desserts.

At Tensho, we have carefully curated the the drink menu, to be enjoyed alongside our food menu.

Recommended drink menu in “Today’s Selection” are carefully hand-picked by Tensho’s owner, who serves as the restaurant’s buyer for beverages, including sake, Japanese craft beer, and natural wine. As a result, even guests unfamiliar with Japanese drinks can enjoy the fine pairing of food and beverages.
